Nathan Ver Meer has worked very hard and now his work is paying off, last week he was accepted to the South Central Iowa Band Association’s (SCIBA) Honor Band. Congratulations Nathan!!

Congratulations to Hudy Serotta, my Cornell College tuba student, on a successful senior recital. I was not able to attend, but he made tons of progress in his preparation and had a wonderful dress rehearsal. Best of luck in the future and keep in touch!

My other students (trombone) also did a great job, but not selected, you all made leaps and bounds improving on your sound, and skill level. I feel optimistic about next year for all of you (Nathan, Halas, and Jamie).

Tevin completed his senior recital at Cornell College successfully. Congratulations, Tevin! You have come a long way in four years while studying with me at Cornell College and I am glad I had the opportunity to teach and meet you. Keep up the good work, it will go a long way in the future.
I have a few students that really sparkled in January.
1) Ben Ostrem went on tour with Central College Symphonic Wind Ensemble to Dallas, TX playing in the trumpet section.
2) Terra Hill made 1st chair Euphonium at the SEIBA Honor Band.
3) Raiden T. from Solon High School made a superior rating on his solo scoring 34 out of a 35 possible points.
